Intelligent Network Integration
Yuon analyzed district heating networks for AEW Energie AG and identified significant optimization potential for reducing fossil fuel consumption, lowering heat losses, and increasing virtual network capacities. The focus lies on data-driven analysis, intelligent monitoring, and creating the foundation for more efficient and future-ready network operation. As a first step, a central interface solution is being implemented to enable additional thermal networks with high optimization potential to be rapidly connected and optimized afterwards.
Heating Network Herrenschwanden
More transparency and control in network operation
Yuon optimizes the Herrenschwanden heating network through centralized remote access, continuous monitoring, and digital supervision of the energy centre and substations. Operational data, heat meters, and control components are continuously monitored and analysed, enabling early detection of issues and more efficient system operation. The project demonstrates how medium-sized district heating networks can be operated more transparently, flexibly, and efficiently through digital operational management.
Operational Optimization in Zurich
Intelligent Control System Reduces Peak Loads
In Zurich’s Hofwiesenstrasse district, Energie 360°, Yuon Control, and Hoval successfully optimized a local district heating network. By combining Hoval control technology with Yuon’s predictive control system, peak loads were reduced by 33%. In addition, energy consumption and CO₂ emissions decreased significantly. The project demonstrates how existing heating networks can be operated more efficiently, cost-effectively, and sustainably through digital control – a scalable model for the energy transition.
InfraWerke Münsingen
Digital analysis as a foundation for future network expansion
Yuon analyzed the Münsingen North district heating network using digital models and operational data from the energy center, network and substations. The analysis identified optimization potential in temperature control, storage management and network operation, creating the foundation for a more efficient and future-ready expansion of the heating network. At the same time, valuable insights were developed for modern data-driven operation and future optimization strategies.
Konolfingen heating network
Commissioning July 2024

Raphael Anken
Managing Director Anken Energietechnik GmbH
With Yuon’s intelligent control technology, including wired intelligent temperature sensors, the current heat demand can be recorded and regulated at any time. Intelligent load management smoothes out costly peak loads, which significantly reduces operating costs.
Herrenschwanden heating network
Commissioning October 2023
In a project together with Allotherm, Yuon supplied the software and control systems for the individual households and the entire district heating network in Landiswil (BE) and has been optimizing operations there since the start of the 2023/24 heating period.

Christian Bieri
Managing Director of Allotherm AG
“Thanks to Yuon’s predictive, self-optimizing heating control system, we have already been able to intelligently equip several district heating networks and thus save energy, costs and CO2 emissions.”
